LAKE MYRTLE

The Walls of Jerusalem

The track to Lake Myrtle commences on the Mersey Forest road a few kilometres south of the Walls of Jerusalem Day Walk turn off.  A three and a half hour walk on a hardened (mostly dry) well marked track.  As with most day walks in the area the first hour is a fairly steep uphill climb.  The track then crosses Blizzard Plain before reaching Lake Bill another hour further on.  It is a little over another hour to Lake Myrtle.  The track continues on the Lake Meston and beyond.  Wildflowers are a feature of the track during summer.  The walk is features on our Walls of Jerusalem Slideshow DVD.
