Mount Wellington

Featherstone Falls

Featherstone Falls are a short 15 minute walk above O'Grady's Falls. Access is along a largely disused or little used trail. The trail commences about 30 metres beyond the foot bridge in front of O'Grady's Falls directly opposite the stump of a fallen tree. The track is fairly difficult in places and only recommended for experienced walkers.

Suggest they are the prettiest falls on Mt Wellington. Several little cascades below the main falls.

A shallow section makes for an easy crossing. Not so easy climbing up to the track. A little cascade below the main falls - RIGHT. Shades of Secret Falls further down the mountain.

The tree above is very awkward. The little broken branch can be used to stop sliding off and down the tree. The only real obstacle to access the falls easily.

This tape marker in the image above is visible from near the creek above O'Grady's Falls. The image was taken on the way out with the falls directly behind. At this point the track drops down a few steps and heads back in the opposite direction on a well constructed section for about 20 metres and heads towards towards the creek.
