DIP FALLS

The Far North West

Ten kilometres east of the Stanley turn off is a road heading south to the Dip River Forest reserve.  The Dip Falls are 26 kilometres from the junction on a good sealed road apart for the last few kilometres which is gravel.  A car park by the road is next to the top of the falls.  There are well appointed picnic and rest room facilities - no power.  A steep set of steps descends to the bottom of these imposing falls.  There are some interesting very short walks in the area.  The picture below on the right was taken after heavy rain.

A few kilometres before the falls is a diversion to a popular picnic area - Black River.  6 kilometres.

A 2 minute drive past the falls.  The Big Tree.  A survivor of early logging of the area.
