BEACONSFIELD

Beaconsfield Museum and Gold Mine.  A very fine museum right next door to the current working mine the scene of a dramatic rescue of two miners in 2007.  A small park opposite includes an old miners cottage and the old Sidmouth shop set in a superb rose garden.

Just after passing through the Beaconsfield shopping centre is a left turn to Greens Beach.  The main road continues on to Beauty Point, a 'suburb' of Beaconsfield.  A few hundred metres along the Green's Beach road, there is another left turn to Holwell.  A few kilometres along this road is the Holwell Gorge.  The gorge is about 3 kilometres long and runs parallel to the road.  The western end is also accessible from the Holwell road.  The Holwell road continues on to Frankland, Port Sorell and Devonport.

The road through Beauty Point loops back on to the Greens Beach road.
