The drive along the Bass Highway to the south of
Rocky Cape National Park passes through some of the rich farm land of Tasmania's
north West Coast. From the road the park's hilly terrain look bare and
infertile. However, closer examination reveals quite a different picture.
A walking track traverses the length of the park about a kilometre inland.
The coastal track passes along a very unique coast line. Here we cover the
walk from Sisters Beach along the coast to Anniversary Point. We then take
the track inland with a 1/2 hour diversion to Doone Falls and back to Sisters
Beach with another short diversion up to Broadview Hill. About 3 1/2 hours
on a dry well constructed track. A little steep in places.
RIGHT: The view
from Broadview Hill is superb. The park abounds with wildflowers from
Spring to Autumn.
