We mention elsewhere on our site that the trip from Hobart to the West Coast requires a minimum overnight stay or two.  A stay at Lake St Clair is recommended also.  Take the ferry trip on Lake St Clair! The drive to the West Coast from Hobart can take up to 4 hours on a road that requires care.

To road from Lake St Clair to Lake Burbury passes through pristine rainforest.  There are many short to medium walks to break up the journey and delight!  The road also hosts the start of the Frenchman's Cap wilderness 3-5 day walk as well as the renowned Franklin River rafting journey.
