The Tarkine

Pieman River

The picture above is taken from the vehicle ferry which crosses the river at Corinna.  The ferry is capable of accommodating caravans.  Corinna is on the eastern bank of the Pieman.   There is a small shop as well as comfortable cabin style accommodation.  There are two short rainforest walks by the river.  An excellent remote oasis in the heart of The Tarkine.  The main attraction here is the ferry ride to the Pieman Heads.  A true wilderness experience.

The three surrounding images are part of the 30 minute rainforest walk to the nearby Whyte River.

The 64 year old huon pine M.V.Arcadia II.
