New Town Falls

Mt Wellington

 

Heading north from Hobart city centre North Hobart restaurant district is reached. Another kilometre further on Augusta Road road heads off to the left. A 10 or 15 minutes drive takes you to the end of Augusta Road.  The New Town Falls track commences here. About an hours walk to the falls.

 

The track is well made and well marked. There are many tracks in the area and ultimately reach the summit of Mt Wellington. Tracks often cut across fire trails.

 

Shortly before the falls there is a side track down to the left to a second cascade below the main falls shown on the right.
