LEES' PADDOCKS

Lee's Paddocks is private property where the Lee family still graze cattle.  The family also own the hut but leave the door unlocked for the use of walkers to the area.  The area is a little like the nearby Walls of Jerusalem - encircled by mountains.  'The Walls' has masses of wildflowers to add to it's beauty whereas 'The Paddocks' are just button grass plains.  However, the walk is very rewarding.  There are two sets of waterfalls along the way.  The second set, Oxley Falls are particularly beautiful.

Lees' Paddock's track provides access to the Overland Track.  The track commences a couple of kilometres before the end of the Mersey forest road which passes by the eastern side of Lake Rowallan.  The track ultimately joins the nearby Arm River track and on to the overland track near Pelion hut.
