Kingston Beach

After passing the shot tower at Taroona, the road south passes over Bonnet Hill before descending into Kingston. A left turn takes you to Kingston Beach.

The northern end of the beach is the start of the Alum Cliffs track to Taroona.

The drive south from Kingston Beach heads around the coast through the small area of Tinderbox. A scenic drive with views of North Bruny Island. A few kilometres out of Blackmans Bay, there is a short walk to Fossil Cove. Well worth the stop.

The road continues on to Margate and beyond - the area known as The Channel. The road continues south along the Dentrecasteaux Channel before heading back in a north westerly direction to Cygnet and Huonville - The Huon. 35 kilometers from Hobart, the road passes through Kettering. Here, a vehicular ferry can be taken to the very beautiful Bruny Island.
