The Far North West

STANLEY

Historic Highfield House.  Headquarters for the Van Diemen's Land Co. established in 1826 to grow fine wool and beef.   The property stretched from Stanley to Cape Grim on the far North West corner of the island.  The house is open to visitors.  Van Diemen's land was the original name for Tasmania.
