In flood - August 2003

Launceston's Cataract Gorge is a spectacular place to visit while in flood.

The highest flood in recent times in the late 1960's has seen the water reach the 1st floor of the kiosk.

Hard to believe but in a few months it will be back to Launceston's popular swimming spot.

Not quite high enough to test the city's flood levies as the torrent heads towards the city centre.
