THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS

Fishing Country

The old homestead at  an area known as The Steppes in the Central Highlands.  About a half hour drive north of Bothwell on the Lake Highway.  The highway is an alternative to taking the Midlands Highway between Hobart and Launceston and Deloraine.  Not that scenic but the edge of Tasmania's world renowned fishing lakes.

There is a very rough rodeo ground opposite.  A rodeo is held around February.

About a half a kilometre before the homestead is a sculptures site depicting aspects of the area.  A track joins the site and the homestead.
